Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi, a premier research laboratory of Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has released a notification for the DRDO Paid Internship Scheme 2026. A total of 35+ tentative vacancies have been announced for Under Graduate / Post Graduate Engineering and Basic Sciences stream students. DRDO NPOL Recruitment 2026– Salary Details

Important Notes:
- If the intern leaves the internship before completion of entire duration of six months, he/she will not receive the stipend or Certificate of internship.
- The amount shall remain unchanged for the term of the internship. There will be no increment/percentage increase during the period.
- Any internship extending beyond 06 months may be considered without payment of stipend for such extended period.

DRDO NPOL Recruitment 2026– How To Apply
- Download the Application Form (Annexure A) and Endorsement Letter format (Annexure B) from the official NPOL/DRDO website or notification.
- Fill in the Application Form completely in BLOCK LETTERS.
- Affix a recent colored passport size photograph in the application form.
- Get the Endorsement Letter (Annexure B) issued by the Head of Institution / Principal on college letterhead with seal and signature.
- Scan all the following documents as a single PDF file:
- Duly filled and signed Application Form (Annexure A)
- Endorsement Letter from Institute/University (Annexure B)
- Self-attested copy of Government issued Photo ID proof
- Copy of semester/year-wise mark lists for the course currently enrolled in

DRDO NPOL Recruitment 2026– Selection Process

DRDO NPOL Recruitment 2026 – Important Instructions
- Indian Nationals only are eligible to apply.
- Students must be currently enrolled in full-time UG/PG courses from AICTE/UGC recognized Indian University/Institute.
- Candidates must be in the final year of the course.
- Minimum 75% marks or ≥7.5 CGPA until the previous year/semester is required.
- The internship/project work of minimum six months duration should be a part of the curriculum.
- No allowance/benefits such as DA, Transport Facility, Residential Accommodation, Personal Staff, CGHS, Medical reimbursement, etc. will be provided.
- No leave other than sick leave (with valid Medical Certificate) will be given to interns.
- Canvassing or personal follow-up to influence the selection process will lead to immediate cancellation of candidature.
- Candidates shall strictly follow the provisions of the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923 and rules/regulations of the Laboratory. An undertaking shall be submitted upon selection.
- Offer of Internship does NOT confer any right for employment/absorption in DRDO.
- In case of any ambiguity/dispute between Hindi and English versions, the English version shall prevail.
- Incomplete/partially filled applications are liable to be rejected.
- Suppression of facts will lead to disqualification at any stage.
- No communication will be undertaken for candidates who are not shortlisted.
- NPOL reserves the right to change vacancy positions or selection criteria at any point without assigning any reason.
