SSB Constable Tradesman Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
For Constable posts (Veterinary, Driver, Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter, Carpenter & Nursing Orderly), the PET includes a 4.8 km race to be completed in 24 minutes for male candidates and a 2.4 km race in 18 minutes for female candidates. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from the PET stage; however, they must appear for all remaining stages of the selection process.

Physical Standard Test (PST):
Candidates who qualify in the PET will be called for the PST, where measurements such as height, chest (for males), and weight will be checked as per the prescribed category-wise and region-wise standards. Candidates failing to meet the required physical standards will be disqualified.
